Party till your gold turns green!
By The Winchester Star
Greg Chastain (left front in photo) shown here with members of Voices of Hope, hosted a Gold to Green Party (www.goldtogreenparties.com) and rehersal on March 10 at his home in Winchester, to raise money for Mutual Funds Against Cancer, Expect Miracles Foundation (www.mutualfundsagainstcancer.com). By bringing their old gold to the party, members raised over $600 for the cause, and on top of that walked away with hundreds from their own sales. Gold to Green Parties are social events for fun or charity that allow attendees to sell their unwanted gold items for cash, to a reputable dealer, and at a fair price. At charity parties, Gold to Green Parties donates 15 percent of all revenues made from the event, and attendees have the option of donating proceeds from their own sales. Chastain started Voices of Hope a year ago to bring together local singers who have been affected by cancer in one way or another. The group has been invited to perform at Symphony Hall on Sept 16, and the proceeds will go toward reaching the group’s goal of donating $50,000 to MFAC.
